Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is an Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. As a child she was subjected to racial taunts by a lot of Americans. After entering a ninth-grade school audition, where she was praised for her singing as she built confidence. The event not only helped to boost her confidence, but also changed her outlook on life. At the age of 22, she was able to graduate from the Julliard School of New York. She began her career at the age of 23 in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. The biggest achievement of her career was with her portrayal of The Lady of The Lake as Spamalot's initial Broadway production. She did not only receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. Following that she was made the lead character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her becoming more famous. A well-known performer, she has also recorded a song and a play. Also, she's an activist and is a tireless advocate to protect LGBT rights.
